Cropping a 50mm picture gives a new perspective. This photo was taken in Washington DC – and I don’t remember the name of the church! Standard 35mm film and digital cameras use a 4:3 frame size. There are other sizes in the photo world such as 1:1, 6:4.5 and 2:1 even but 4:3 is the most common. However, you don’t always have to use the whole frame – you can crop to give a new perspective.

So yes, this is a 50mm shot but I cropped it to capture the lines of the church.
