Gear Acquisition Syndrome (GAS) is a condition common to photographers. Sometimes a person gets seduced by the stuff and falls in love with the equipment instead of the art made with the equipment. GAS is bad enough for photographers but ten times worse for astro-photographers. Star gazers seek out the best and the most expensive equipment to get ever better pictures. The photo above is the andromeda galaxy taken with a simple 50mm lens.

Is it breathtaking? Amazing? No, not really. But it is pretty cool. And good enough for a simple man with a 50mm lens!
